Guidance is available on how the quality of your monitoring procedures through an operator monitoring assessment (OMA) is assessed and what you can do to prepare.Your environmental permit tells you what emissions to air and discharges to water you have to monitor. The Environment Agency checks you are doing it properly using an operator monitoring assessment (OMA).

The Environment Agency carry out OMAs on installations that regulate under the Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations.
